Oprah Winfrey says she wants Britney Spears to be on her show. Madonna loves working with Spears. And now fans have made the comeback pop princess' new album, Circus, a hit.
So you’d think that fellow pop rocker Katy Perry would jump at the chance to work with Brit, right? Well, actually, no.
"She wouldn't be the girl I would collaborate with necessarily," Perry said Saturday at KIIS-FM’s Jingle Ball concert outside of L.A. "She's not on the top of my list. There are other people I'd much rather work with first. I love John Legend's record. So how about I collaborate with him?"
But Perry knows never to say never, explaining she needs some face time with Spears before making any final calls. "I work with people I love," Perry said. "I only work with them if I love them. If we click, we click, but if we clash, we clash...So I’d have to see. I'd have to meet [Spears]."
Meanwhile, Perry is taking the high road when it comes to the Grammys. Much to everyone's surprise, she received only one nomination: Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for her megahit "I Kissed a Girl." No doubt she should have also gotten noms for Best New Artist and Record of the Year.
"This is my first year being up for nominations, so I'm just happy that I even got the one nod," Perry said. "I mean, I could have been left with no nominations!"
Ellen made fun of Brit’s singing skills. She joked, “I had to keep teaching her about harmony.”

For her 27th birthday bash in New York on Tuesday night, Britney Spears turned nightclub Tenjune into a three-ring circus. Brit showed up in a low-cut Roberto Cavalli cocktail dress, with her hair done up loosely. The party was attended by her mom, Lynne, as well as celebrities like Ciara, Lance Bass and Jeremy Piven.
The party was featured jugglers, a man on stilts and carnival concessions like hot dogs and popcorn, according to UsMagazine.com. Outside, circus images were projected onto a screen.
Spears told "Entertainment Tonight" her simple birthday wish: "A million more wishes!"
"I've definitely known her for a long time and it's been amazing to see the career she's had," Lance Bass told "ET" outside the party. "It's going to be an amazing career for her. It's great when people do themes to their albums."
Fellow partygoer Ciara was also excited to spend Britney's big day with her, and was hesitant to label Circus a comeback record. "I was actually watching her interview the other day where she said she doesn't like the word 'comeback,' so I won't say that," she told ET. "But, I'm happy her album is coming out. She's taking us into her circus and I'm enjoying it."
"It's going to be great to see her," Bass added. "I'm so proud of her. I'm really happy. I don't think she went anywhere. I think the album is amazing. I'm already falling in love with it."
As she was presented with a circus-themed birthday cake, Barry Weiss, CEO and president of Jive Records, Brit's label, told the singer, "We are so proud and so happy to be a part of your life. Looking at your two boys today, it's an amazing experience."
The pop princess, who celebrated her 27th birthday last week under the Big Top, will have her holiday segment air on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday, Dec. 16.

• Longtime Spears choreographer Wade Robson stepped onto the stage before the cameras rolled, checking out the cage from which dancers emerged during “Circus.” Her manager, Larry Rudolph, did a similar walk-through before “Womanizer.”
• Spears’ sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, were carried in and out of the arena several times by beefy bodyguards. Fans screamed their names, and Jayden waved to the crowd from his seat next to Britney’s mom, Lynne. He later bopped a bodyguard on the head with the “Britney Spears/Happy Birthday” sign he was clutching.
• Fans went nuts when the lights went down and Spears got on top of the cage for the start of “Circus.” Though she was crouched in position and concentrating hard, she gave a little wave and smile to people on either side of the stage.
• A stagehand armed with a fire extinguisher crouched next to the stage, ready to douse the flames on the circle Spears’ stepped through at the start of “Womanizer.”
• An army of men in trenchcoats and earpieces roamed the premises to ensure Brit’s safety. The one in front of us scrunched down to avoid blocking sightlines during “Womanizer” and got a special tap on the head from a dancer perched nearby.
• Attendees were given samples of Britney’s fragrances upon entering, and clown noses from the Big Apple Circus on the way out.
• The crew of fans dressed like Britney were relocated for their interview with Sam Champion and sent back to their seats for the performance. The rest of the crowd chuckled during their chat.
• To pass the time between segments, clowns from the Big Apple Circus roamed the crowd, tossing beach balls and performing a few hat tricks.

Britney says it was a crazy year but in 2008 she proved she’s still on top and she’s ready to win back her pop sensation status.
Her sixth studio album Circus is released today and she’s going on her first world tour for the last four years. Good luck to you Britney!

At least that’s the latest word from the man himself, Adnan Ghalib. The former paparazzo, who was once an ever-present fixture in the pop star’s life, is now speaking out.
Earlier this week, Heat magazine published a story detailing Adnan’s alleged attempt to sell a two-hour tape, which supposedly featured the “Toxic” singer wearing nothing but her once-signature pink wig. In an interview with Star, Adnan insists the report was completely fabricated.
“There is no sex tape, and I’ve never claimed there is one,” he said. “I don't know where these quotes I’m supposed to have said have come from. What I do know is they certainly didn't come from me and they are completely false.”
The ex-lensman went on to say the sex-tape story distressed him, and he intends to clear his name by taking legal action.

Britney Spears is set to release a series of workout DVDs. The 'Womanizer' singer, who proudly showed off her newly toned figure at the MTV Video Music Awards last month, has been inspired by fitness guru Jane Fonda to don a Lycra leotard and help her fans get in shape.
A source said: "Britney wants to put out a series of workout videos. The idea was inspired by Britney's love of dance and how it helped her get back into shape. It seems Britney found her mom's old Fonda tapes, popped them into an old VCR machine and got a big kick out of watching them."
Although the 26-year-old star is yet to confirm her DVD venture, her record label has fuelled the rumours. A Jive/Zomba representative said: "The idea makes perfect sense, given Britney is a singer who uses dance so much in her act."
Britney is currently preparing to release her new album 'Circus' on December 2 and is hoping it will be a huge success.
A source said: "Britney is telling everyone she doesn't just want to debut at number one, but she wants it to break all kinds of records for a new release."

The singer -- whose sixth studio album, Circus, is released in December -- checked out a performance of musical In The Heights during her trip to New York last week, to promote her new single Womanizer.
And, according to the New York Daily News, the Toxic hitmaker is looking for the right part to make her stage debut.

It was recently reported that the star was contemplating a move to NYC.
According to MSNBC, she has spoken to her ex-husband Kevin Federline, who she has two sons with, about the prospect of leaving Miami and relocating to the US city.
A source said, "Britney always toys with the idea of going to New York. Obviously there's no chance that is happening unless Kevin moves, too."
During a recent radio interview, Britney revealed her love New York -- and her regret at selling her apartment there.
She said, "Man, I wish I had my apartment here still. But I love New York City. The energy is crazy."

Britney Spears' attorney has filed a petition on her behalf asking that the upcoming trial on her driving-without-a-license charge be postponed or dismissed.Attorney J Michael Flanagan has made repeated requests for the dismissal of the case, arguing that the pop star should only be required to pay a $10 fine and not face criminal charges, but the requests have been denied.
Now he is asking the Los Angeles Superior Court to stay the case, alleging that she is "unable to meaningfully participate in her defence because of her conservatorship", reports the Associated Press.
He is also asking an appellate judge to order the superior court judge to dismiss the case.
Spears is due to appear in court in October to face misdemeanour charges of driving without a valid California license stemming from an incident in which she hit a parked car in August 2007.

Britney Spears admitted that she was completely surprised that her video 'Piece Of Me' made a clean sweep at the the MTV Video Music Awards earlier this month, winning in all categories for which it was nominated.
The video won Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and Video Of The Year at the September 8 ceremony in Los Angeles, as previously reported.
"It's a cool video, but I think by far I've done videos that are way better," she told New York radio station Z100 today (September 29), reports the Associated Press.
She added that the win was "inspiring", and will help her "because now going forward with the videos that I'm doing now, I can really go there and do something crazy and see what happens."
Spears' forthcoming album 'Circus' is due out in the US on December 2.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Britney Spears said she plans to make her first international tour since 2004 to support her highly anticipated new album, "Circus."
In an interview broadcast on Monday by New York radio station Z100, Spears was asked if she planned to tour.
"Oh definitely, next year," she said, adding the tour would probably take her "around the world."
That would mark her first major concert tour since 2004.
Last year, Spears performed in a handful of club shows in Southern California under the name the M+M's but did not go on the road to promote her last album, "Blackout," which had a good chart debut in November 2007 but faded quickly.
After more than a year of making headlines for shaving her head, attacking paparazzi with an umbrella and two admissions to psychiatric hospital units, Spears, 26, is preparing for a comeback.
Her last live public performance was a much-ridiculed rendition of "Gimme More" at the MTV Video Music Awards a year ago.
The singer's latest single, "Womanizer," was released on Friday and is the first single off "Circus," which will be released on December 2 -- her 27th birthday. She told Z100 she spent six months working on the album.Spears has been on the mend since her father took control of her business affairs in February. She won three awards for her song "Piece of Me" at this year's MTV video music awards.
Gina Orr, a spokeswoman for Spears' label, Jive Records, said there were no details yet about the expected tour.
Before her life spiraled out of control, Spears was an international pop phenomenon and one of the most commercially successful recording artists of the last decade with sales of more than 62 million albums.

Britney Spears was showing off some major roots as she arrived at LAX International Airport to catch a flight to New York at the weekend.
The singer looked like she needed to book in with a hairdresser to sort out her dodgy weave as she swept past the awaiting paparazzi with the help of her burly minders.
With a hotly anticipated album in the works and her new single Womanizer bouncing around the internet, the Piece Of Me star certainly has her promotional work cut out for her.
And it seems even Britney has also been hit by the unhealthy housing market – according to reports she even posed in the listing catalogue for her $7.9 million mansion in hopes that it would help her sell the house quickly!
